Women's Healthcare & Reproductive Rights
Team Leader: Linda Traum
womenshealthcare@goleaguego.org
The League supports access to quality healthcare for all women, including bodily autonomy, privacy, reproductive health, contraception, and abortion. We advocate for individuals’ rights to make private reproductive decisions. The League collaborates with nonpartisan groups to educate the community on policy changes and ways to make their voices heard. Our advocacy includes contacting elected officials, organizing outreach events, and partnering with like-minded organizations.

Our Focus:

The WHARR (Women's Healthcare and Reproductive Rights) Action Team informs the public and advocates for women's healthcare throughout the lifecycle, including reproductive rights. Guided by League positions at the national, state, and local levels, we believe individuals should have equitable healthcare and the freedom to make private reproductive decisions.

The LWVCM supports:

  • Access to high-quality and affordable healthcare for all
  • The rights of people to make reproductive choices and have access to these services

The LWVCM:

  • Partners with community members and local and state coalitions to support common healthcare interests.
  • Educates LWVCM members and community members about health equity
  • Monitors policy changes, educates the community, and leads advocacy efforts such as writing campaigns, community presentations, and information tables
  • Conducts phone or text banks
