In 2006, the League of Women Voters Education Fund launched VOTE411.org, a “one-stop-shop” for election-related information. Today, VOTE411 is an award-winning nonpartisan website which provides general and state-specific voting resources, including a nationwide polling place locator, a ballot look-up tool, candidate positions on issues, campaign finance information, and more.   In 2024 over nine million voters turned to VOTE411 for nonpartisan election information.  Our league’s VOTE411 Team works with LWVUS and LWVNC to produce customized voting guides for every primary and general election.  In addition to offering these guides to voters in Mecklenburg county, we offer guides for voters in neighboring counties without league chapters.  We actively work to promote the site, and we welcome help in this effort.  Here are some ways you can help!
  • Post VOTE411 flyers in public locations (grocery stores, community centers, parks, laundromats, churches, car washes etc.)
  • Display a VOTE411 car magnet or wear a VOTE411 button (available in our Cafepress shop)
  • Distribute VOTE411 bookmarks in book clubs, bookstores, Little Free Libraries, bulletin boards, etc.
  • Download the League In Action app and follow LWVCM (posted VOTE411 actions can then be shared within your personal networks)
  • Put a VOTE411 laptop sticker on your laptop
  • Commit to telling a friend or relative in another state about VOTE411
  • Post about VOTE411 on your personal social media & neighborhood sites (e.g. Nextdoor)
  • Like and share LWVCM social media VOTE411 posts
  • Contact your candidates (if they are un-responded in VOTE411) and urge them to participate
  • Add a note and a link directing recipients to VOTE411.org to your signature setting in your personal email account
